Kate Kieffer, Certified Veterinary Technician

Kate completed her Associate of Applied Science degree in Veterinary Technology at Kirkwood Community College in 1994 and started working for us immediately when the clinic opened in October of that year. She has a special interest in dentistry and enjoys providing the "hands-on" nursing care that we give our patients.  She lives in the country with her husband and three children. They share their home with 3 dogs, one cat, and several amphibians. Kate has 3 horses and enjoys riding, gardening, and spending time with her family and pets when she is not working.

Kelsi completed her education through Penn Foster College for her Veterinary Assistant degree and is currently working on her Veterinary Technician degree. She started working for Galena Square Veterinary Clinic as an intern and has continued with us.  She likes the hands on aspects of veterinary medicine the best and working directly with patients.  She lives in the country with her husband, Dylan, and two children, Weston and Kinzley.  Kelsi and her family share their lives with a variety of animals.  In her down time Kelsi enjoys spending time with her human and furry family members.

Galena Square Veterinary Clinic - Galena - Leonard the Cat

Leonard, Clinic Cat Extrodinaire

Leonard Square has been dutifully performing the job of “clinic cat” since spring of 2012.  He is a friendly fellow, often interested in investigating our canine and feline patients alike.  He may pester you into petting him if you happen to be at the front desk, but don’t feel slighted if you miss him – one of his favorite pastimes is letting himself into the cabinet for a nap amongst the blankets.
