24/7 Emergency Phone
We sincerely appreciate your patience as we navigate these uncertain times in response to the COVID-19 health crisis. We are considered to be an essential business, as indicated by Governor Pritzker's health order, so we will remain open to serve your pets.
That order does state that non-essential veterinary care should be avoided, so we are currently limiting our appointments to sick and injured pets and emergencies. Please call us if you have questions about time-sensitive vaccines.
As a reminder, we are offering car-side concierge services, so please remain in your vehicle and call us at 815-777-2592 upon arrival in our parking lot. We are acutely aware that waiting on hold can be frustrating. Thank you for your patience with us as our changing protocols take more time. We are trying to ensure the safety of our clients and staff while taking the best possible care of your pet.
This process is as follows:
· We will take your pet’s history and pertinent information over the phone.
· Your pet should be on a leash or in a carrier and be easily handed to the technician who meets you at your car.
· While you wait in your car, we will examine your pet, and the veterinarian will call you to discuss recommendations and treatments.
· We will take your credit card payment over the phone.
· We will bring your receipt, applicable medications, and your pet back to your vehicle.
We are also postponing routine surgeries, such as spays, neuters, and routine dental cleanings, to do our part to conserve masks, gloves, and other personal protective equipment.
You will continue to be able to pick up food and medications. We have had a lot of requests for increased quantities of medications. Unfortunately, at this time we are only able to fill normal quantities in order to maintain a supply for all of our patients. Please call ahead for these items so we can guarantee their availability, or feel free to use our online store.
We enjoy and miss our personal interactions with each of you, and we look forward to seeing you again in our clinic as soon as this crisis has passed.
However, we are making some important changes to our daily routines and protocols in order to keep our clients and staff safe during this difficult situation. Things may change as the situation evolves, but we are taking these steps to minimize risk to all and to allow us to remain open to care for your pets.
The following changes are effective immediately:
Our hospital doors will be locked in order to practice social distancing and minimize the traffic in the clinic.
If you have a scheduled appointment, we ask that you call us when you arrive in the parking lot.
If you are picking up a medication or food or dropping off a sample, please call us when you arrive. We will take your payment via phone and then come out to your vehicle to deliver your product or collect your sample.
On the rare circumstance that a client may be allowed into the building, we may ask you to wash your hands and/or wear a mask. If at all possible, only a single person should be present.
If you feel ill or have recently traveled, we urge you to reschedule your appointment.
Please check your food and medication supplies and notify us in advance if you are needing refills in the event that we need to order them due to increased demand.
Our staff will not be working if they are ill.
Please be assured that our current hospital cleaner/disinfectant is labeled as effective against COVID-19. Our cleaning and disinfecting practices continue to exceed recommendations.
We sincerely appreciate your help, cooperation, and understanding as we care for the health needs of your precious pet. You can reach us at 815-777-2592 should you have any questions.
