Children and Pet Loss
Children may have many difficult questions and handle grief differently than their parents. If you need or want help explaining pet loss or euthanasia to your child, Galena Square Veterinary Clinic's sister hospital (Family Pet Hospital) has a library with children's books regarding the passage of a beloved pet that clients can borrow any time they need to. There is also a good website below with answers to questions that children often ask.

Loosing a pet is loosing a family member and grieving is a natural part of the process. Please know that you are not alone in your grief.
